I am committed to sharing in the benefits & risks of this partnership with Turnip Rock Farm for this season. I trust the farmers will do their best to provide a varied selection of quality produce throughout the harvest season. I understand that the number of items and selection may fluctuate throughout the growing season due to weather and unexpected causes. Should crop failure occur I understand the produce yields could be greatly impacted.
Becoming a CSA shareholder means that you pledge to support our farm in its operations by pre-paying a fee in exchange for a share of the harvest.
Your box is priced competitively with grocery store and co-op Organic prices. We aim to have the value of items in the box average out over the course of the season.
We occasionally spray Organic approved pesticides for disease and insects, but only VERY minimally so as not to upset the balance between beneficial insects and pests. Your box may occasionally contain a hitchhiker – or two – and your veggies will look like they were grown by real people, under real conditions. The quality will be great, but you may get slightly larger or smaller or oddly shaped vegetables than the homogenous offerings at the grocery store.
As a member you will need to be an active participant. Your CSA experience will be greatly improved if you read emails and blog posts from the farm. We appreciate feedback from our members and look forward to hearing from you.
You are responsible for making arrangements for your box if you are unable to pick up. Please ask a neighbor, friend or family member to pick-up your box for you. Any changes to your pick up schedule (such as drop site change) must be submitted four business days ahead of your scheduled pick up date. If any problems arise, we ask that you contact us as soon as possible so that we can fix the problem.
Your box will be at the specified pick-up location on the designated delivery dates and time. The box is guaranteed during the pick-up hours. If your box isn’t picked up during the designated hours, your box is left to the host’s discretion. If any problems arise, we ask that you contact us as soon as possible so that we can fix the problem.
If you are dissatisfied with your CSA share or if you find that CSA is simply not for you, please contact us. We understand that life happens and you may need to cancel your share. We do not guarantee refunds, but we are willing to discuss options.
There will be a $20 processing fee for any cancellation.
